On the 9th of June 2015, the DESTA consortium organized a final event for the project officially ends on the 30th of June. Alongside all project partners, also the project officer joined the meeting in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The morning was reserved for a project meeting, focussing on the project results and roadmap for the future. In the afternoon, our splendit hosts at Volvo organized a live demonstration of the DESTA APU. All meeting participants had the chance to see the system installed on the truck, followed by the presentation of the DESTA video.
As a highlight, everyone got to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and warm cinnamon buns from the APU powered coffee maker and microwave.
We would hereby like to thank all DESTA consortium members for the great collaboration over the last 3.5 years and were happy to jointly bring the project to an end.

For the 4th Steering Committee and Technical Management Team meeting, participants from all project partners came together in Gotenburg, Sweden. Alongside the meeting, all participants got the chance to take a tour through the Volvo Trucks Production Vacilities. Thank you to our colleagues from Volvo, for hosting this great event.

On June 25th and 26th, we will be joined by our collegues from the projects FCGEN and SSH25 for a workshop in Turin, Italy. In the following, you find some details on the workshop:
Date June 25th-26th, 2014
Location Environment Park, Congress Centre, Via Livorno 60, 10144 Torino, Italy, Tel.+39 011 225 71 11, Fax +39 011 225 72 21, www.envipark.com
Promoter SSH2S FCH-JU project. Coordinator: Marcello Baricco, University of Turin (Italy)
Title FCH JU projects - Fuel Cell based Auxiliary Power Units - Joint Workshop
Context The workshop is organized as a final dissemination event of the SSH2S - Fuel Cell Coupled Solid State Hydrogen Storage Tank – performed in the frame of FCH JU activities. The main objective of SSH2S is to develop a solid state hydrogen storage tank fully integrated with a fuel cell and to demonstrate its application on a real system. The application of the hydrogen tank has been experimentally investigated with a 1 kW Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) prototype based on a High Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (HTPEM) fuel cell. The project has a total budget of 3.5 M€, with a EU contribution of 1.6 M€. The project is coordinated by the University di Turin (Italy) and it involves various research centers and companies around Europe: Institute for Energy Technology (Norway), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany), Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (Germany), Tecnodelta s.r.l. (Italy), Serenergy A/S (Denmark), Fiat Research Centre (Italy) and Joint Research Centre of European Commission (Belgium).
Programme The Joint Workshop brings together three FCH JU projects (DESTA, FCGEN e SSH2S) that are involved in research and demonstration in Fuel Cell based Auxiliary Power Units, to discuss topics of common interests. The workshop program is based on project presentations (oral sessions) and a breakout discussion session, based on the design of the integrated system, technical specifications and safety issues. An exhibition of APU system developed in the frame of the SSH2S project is also scheduled. At the end of the workshop, key insights from the discussion sessions will be identified, recorded and subsequently disseminated amongst all participants, the FCH JU and the wider fuel cell and hydrogen community.
Registration Participation to the workshop is free of charge. Interested participants can register sending an e.mail to marcello.baricco(at)unito.it by June 16th, 2014.

On February 12th, the DESTA consortium got together in Graz, where AVL List hosted the third combined Technical Management Team and Steering Committee meeting.

In September 2013, the first review meeting for DESTA took place in Brussels. Our project officer from FCH-JU and two independent reviewers assessed the progress and status of the DESTA project. It was a very interesting meeting with valuable discussion and recommendations for the project and we are looking forward to the coming very interesting period.

On February 20, the DESTA consortium got together in Copenhagen to have the second combined Technical Management Team and Steering Committee meeting. Thanks a lot to the TOFC colleauges for hosting us!

On September 12, the DESTA consortium met for the first DESTA SC+TMT meeting after the project start. We would like to thank J. Eberspächer for hosting us in Esslingen!

The DESTA project started in January 2012 with a kick-off meeting on January 18th. The coordinator, AVL List GmbH, invited the partners to Graz and ten participants, including our FCH-JU project officer followed this invitation.
The kick-off meeting, accompanied by a social event was an important milestone to meet everybody in person and align on the different expectations. We are looking forward to the future cooperation with our DESTA partners and to a successful project!
